It brings together states and distilleries that have never been blended before, creating entirely new flavors that show the depth and breadth of what bourbon can be. This is a blend of straight bourbons from five distilleries from the eastern half of the United States, ranging from cooler northern climates to the hot, humid Deep South. It has notes of baking spice, dark chocolate, and dried fruits on the nose, with a rich, creamy palate with powerful spice and oak. Although it has no distilleries in common with the first edition of Far-Flung Bourbon, which is still available in limited quantities, it nevertheless shares a certain similarity in flavor profile. They are both different, but not wildly so, and both are fascinating explorations of the widening world of bourbon.
